Packaging and Freight

The artists from whom you purchase the work is responsible for the packaging and sending of your artwork.

Normally this will be sent within 5 working days of your purchase. You will be sent notification as to the date of shipping and the tracking number so you will be able to trace its location.

For details on how your artwork will ship, please see the individual artwork page. Each item ships individually from the artist so it will vary depending upon how the artist plans to ship it. We work with artists and provide advice as to how to ship their items securely and safely. The following will be helpful.

Ships in a cardboard box

This item will ship flat in a sturdy, well-protected cardboard box. Your artwork will arrive with plenty of support packaging to help it make its journey as safe as possible from the artist’s studio to you.

Ships in a crate

This item will ship in a wooden crate. Large artworks are usually shipped in a very sturdy crate that is built for shipping art all around the world. The crate will contain packaging materials to keep it firmly in place during its journey, and will be tightly sealed.

Ships in a tube

This item will arrive rolled in a tube. We have recommended a pVC tube or two tubes inside each other. This method is very safe and provides lower shipping costs as well. Rolled works can be easily stretched (for canvas works, i.e. placed onto wooden stretcher bars) and/or framed by a local framer upon arrival. Upon delivery, we suggest you take the tube unpacked to your framer for professional unpacking.
