We were so delighted to receive the funding from Creative New Zealand to help us build a sophisticated online gallery for all Far North and Northland artists.
The initial development will be completed by the end of September and will then be launched for all interested artists to apply for listing. All artists in all mediums will be able to submit their work so the selection committee can ensure they enter the appropriate categories on the online gallery.
This gallery will be one of many events and activities under the auspices of the Bay of Islands Charitable Trust.
Artists will be able to manage their own profiles as well as enjoying wide ranging marketing throughout New Zealand (and eventually overseas). It will enable the Far North and Northland artists to access a broad market they would otherwise, in many instances, not be able to reach.
We would like to thank Creative New Zealand so much, for their encouragement and support in creating this wonderful facility for artists, helping to develop further resilience in the art sector – badly needed in these chaotic times.
