Managing Your Profile

It’s important to spend some time thinking how to make your artworks and your profile as attractive as possible to those visiting the website. Artists with a well written profile about themselves, with their exhibitions and background shown and with great images of their artwork will appeal most to our purchasers.

If you haven’t already, click here to submit your application to Bay of Islands Creative Gallery and once your application is confirmed you will receive a notification with login details once your account has been activated.

You will then be able to access you “Artist Vendor Dashboard” to finish completing your account and upload your artworks. You will also be able to add your bank details so we can pay you.

Here are some hints to help with creating your online profile.

How to Write your Bio or Profile and Update Your Information

Include as much detail as possible in your profile or bio and shout about your work! Some tips include

  • don’t use over emotional language or jargon
  • use the third person – rather than saying “I am” say “Bob Smith” is – think about the fact someone else is reading this, not you!
  • try and start your profile with a sentence which best summarises who you are and what you do. “Bob Smith is a….”

Things to include in your profile are a biography, galleries where you show your work, any media coverage, collections where your work may be held, any qualifications and awards. The best way to do this is to mentally split the profile into there – introduction to your style and what you do, your education, your achievements.

You can update your profile at any time by logging in and following the instructions in your manual.
